KDSAP

The Harvard College Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) was started by a physician/professor in our department. It seeks to get undergraduates involved in spreading awareness of kidney disease and identifying at-risk patients at the community level. The Harvard chapter holds monthly renal health screenings free of charge at local community centers and organizations.

This is a creative, inexpensive to make use of existing community infrastructure to improve public health. It also helps get students interested in nephrology, a specialty for which there is a shortage of doctors. If you are interested in establishing a chapter of KDSAP at your university or high school, contact kdsapdirect@gmail.com.
